연관성의 방향을 반영한 헬링거 측도의 활용

Use of Hellinger Measures Reflecting the Direction of Association

헬링거 측도는 연관 규칙을 탐색하는데 이용할 수 있는 측도로 연관의 보편성과 정보량을 기반으로 계산된다. 일반적으로 연관성 분석에 있어 연관성의 방향(음 또는 양)을 파악하는 것은 매우 중요한데 헬링거 측도는 연관성의 크기만을 알 수 있다. 이에 방향을 반영한 헬링거 측도가 개발되어 있다. 또한 연관성의 대상이 되는 항목 간의 선후에 관계없이 계산되는 대칭적 헬링거 측도와 대칭적 헬링거 측도에 연관성의 방향을 더한 대칭적 부호 헬링거 측도도 개발되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 대칭적 부호 헬링거 측도를 개선한 헬링거 측도를 제안하고 활용 가능성을 살펴보았다. 대칭적 부호 헬링거 측도는 향상도를 기준으로 파악되는 연관성의 방향과 일치하지 않는 경우가 있다. 따라서 대칭적 부호 헬링거 측도만으로는 연관성의 정도 및 방향을 파악하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 향상도를 기준으로 부호를 부여하는 방법으로 개선된 대칭적 부호 헬링거 측도를 제안하였다. 모의 자료와 예제 자료를 이용하여 제안된 헬링거 측도의 활용 가능성을 살펴보았다. 향상도를 통해 알 수 있는 연관성의 방향과 일치하면서 헬링거 측도의 기준에서 연관성의 정도도 파악할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Hellinger measures can be used to explore association rules, which are calculated based on the universality of the association and the amount of information. It is very important to identify the direction (negative or positive) of the association in the association analysis. Since Hellinger measure only knows the magnitude of the association, measures that reflect the direction have been developed. Also a symmetric Hellinger measure that is calculated regardless of the precedence between the items of association was proposed. A signed symmetric Hellinger measure has also been developed that adds a direction of association to the symmetric Hellinger measure. The signed symmetric Hellinger measure sometimes does not coincide with the direction of association found based on the lift. In this paper, we propose an improved signed symmetric Hellinger measure by assigning a symmetric Hellinger measure based on the lift. Using the simulated and example data, we examined the feasibility of using the proposed Hellinger measure.
