Factors Affecting the View on Marriage of College Students

본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 이들의 결혼관에 미치는 영향 요인을 확인함으로써 대학생의 결혼관에 대한 이해를 높이고 관련 정책 결정 시 도움이 되는 기초자료를 제공하고자 시도된 서술적 조사연구이다. 2019년 4월 1주일동안 J도에 소재한 3곳의 4년제 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 244명이 응답해준 설문지를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과 대학생의 성별, 종교, 대인관계 유능성 및 성역할 태도가 결혼관에 영향을 미치는 요인임을 알 수 있었다. 즉 여학생보다 남학생이, 종교가 없는 경우보다 종교가 있는 경우 보수적인 결혼관을 나타내었고, 대인관계 유능성이 높을수록 성역할 태도가 전통적일수록 보수적인 결혼관을 나타내었다. 따라서 대인관계 유능성은 결혼관에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 새롭게 확인되었다. 결론적으로 대학생의 인간관계 맺기를 방해하는 내면의 문제를 풀 수 있는 근본적인 해법을 찾아야 할 것이다. 또한 평등한 성역할 규범을 사회 전반으로 저변화해야 할 것이며 결혼을 사회적 문제로 인식하는 노력이 수반되어야 할 것이다.

This study is a descriptive research attempted to improve the understanding of view on marriage of college students and to provide basic data to help them in making policy decisions by identifying factors that affect view on marriage. During the one week in April 2019, a questionnaire from 244 college students at 3 four-year universities in J-do was used for the final analysis. As a result, it was found that the gender, religion, interpersonal competence, and gender-role attitude of college students influenced the view on marriage. In other words, male students were more conservative than female students, and religions were more conservative than non-religious ones. The higher the interpersonal competence, the more traditional the gender-role attitude, and the more conservative the marriage. Therefore, Interpersonal competence was newly identified as a factor influencing view on marriage. In conclusion, it is necessary to find a fundamental solution that can solve the inner problems that hinder college students relationship. Equal gender role norms should be underwritten throughout society and efforts should be made to recognize marriage as a social issue.
