한국 근대 문예활동에 나타난 민족담론의 정립 양상

Establishment Patterns of National Discourse in Modern Literary Activities in Korea

이 연구는 한국 근대 문예활동에 나타난 민족담론의 정립 양상을 살피는데 목적이 있다. 특히 안확, 윤백남, 심훈을 통해 그들이 어떠한 근대담론을 형성하며 실천적 언술 행위로 이어졌는지에 집중하여 보았다. 안확은 『조선문학사』, 『조선문명사』 등의 사적 정리를 통해 민족의식을 담론화 하였고, 윤백남은 야담운동을 통해 민족문화의 대중적 확산을 꽤하였으며, 심훈은 소설, 시, 영화에 걸치는 다양한 장르를 통해 민족의식을 드러내었다. 이들은 모두 다양한 관점과 대상을 통해 민족담론을 형성하고 있다는 점에서 공통적이었다. 이들의 언술은 계몽적 측면이 강하였지만 미적 근대성의 성취를 위해 민중에게 가장 적합하고 포용적인 실험을 거듭하였다. 이는 대중지향의 자유주의적 시각 속에서 다양한 담론을 양산하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 이는 개념적 민족담론 형성이 아닌 미적 근대성의 인식을 통한 실천적 양상이었다는 측면에서 주목할 수 있다. 이러한 점은 한국문화의 유연성과 근대 민중지향의 사회통합의 의지를 드러낸 점에서도 연구의 가치가 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the establishment patterns of national discourse in modern literary activities in Korea with a special focus on the formation of modern discourse by Ahn Hwak, Yun Baek-nam, and Sim Hun within their category and their resulting practical enunciative operations. Ahn Hwak arranged history books such as The Literary History of Joseon and The History of Civilization in Joseon, turning national consciousness into discourse. Yun Baek-nam worked on the popular spread of national culture through the historical romance movement. Sim Hun also made pioneering achievements by establishing national discourse anew in multi-angled viewpoints, showing national consciousness across diverse genres including novels, poetry, and movies. All of them established and practiced a range of theories based on national discourse. When various cultures clashed in the modern times, they made flexible reactions to the times and made pioneering achievements to hold their own significance. Their enunciative operations are also noteworthy as they adopted the liberalist viewpoint of open thinking and produced various works of discourse across many different genres despite their reputation in their respective fields. They took a centrist position in their whereabouts. Even though they delved deep into a field, they managed to achieve consilience by crossing various fields of study. Their works thus became a foundation for the modern culture of Korea, which adds more significance to these figures. It is also worth doing research on them as they had determination for social integration and left pioneering achievements during the period of modern acculturation.
