What is the Alternative for Baby Boomers in Community? : Experience N Community Senior Club

한국 노인복지정책의 패러다임은 공공부문 일자리를 만들고 제공할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 본 연구는 한국의 전체 인구 대비 베이비부머 비율이 두 번째로 높은 부산광역시에 위치한 N 시니어 클럽에서 얻은 자료와 기존 문헌의 검토 및 분석으로 이루어졌다. N 시니어클럽은 남구의 특성을 반영한 지역 특화 일자리를 활용해 기성세대와 젊은 세대 간의 교류는 물론 지역 노인 사회참여를 촉진하는 데 많은 노력을 기울여 왔다. 노년의 빈곤은 더 나은 건강, 사회적 상호 작용, 여가 활동을 위한 기회를 현저히 제한하기 때문에 노년의 삶의 질을 떨어뜨리는 핵심 요인이 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 N 시니어 클럽의 프로젝트 분석을 통해 시니어 고용 프로젝트 개발 및 유지에 관한 3가지 제안을 제공한다.

The paradigm of Korea’s welfare policy for the elderly is to let the public sector create and offer jobs. This study reviewed previous literature and analyzed existing statistics as well as data obtained from N Senior Club located in Busan, which has the second highest ratio of baby boomers to total population in Korea. The club has been putting great effort into facilitating local senior citizens’ social participation as well as interaction between the older and younger generations by utilizing region-specific jobs that reflect the characteristics of Nam-gu. Poverty in one’s old age can be a key factor that lowers the quality of life in old age because it significantly limited opportunities for better health, social interaction, and leisure activities. Through the analysis of N Senior Club’s projects, this study provides three suggestions for developing and maintaining senior employment projects
