Current Status and Tasks of Virtual Reality Contents in Korean Ancient History

가상 현실 콘텐츠는 가상 현실을 통해 현대인이 경험할 수없는 과거의 역사와 문화를 알려주며 역사 교육에 널리 사용된다. 특히 역사적인 기록이 부족한 한국 고대사 분야에서 이러한 가상 현실 콘텐츠는 역사 교육에 유용하다. 그렇기 때문에 현재까지 많은 한국고대사 가상 현실 콘텐츠들이 제작되었다. 이들은 복원 및 보존 유형, 정보 제공 유형 및 경험 유형과 같이 분류될 수 있다. 그러나 현재의 가상 현실 콘텐츠는 역사적 상상력과 사고력을 발전시키는 데 있어서 한계가 있다. 이를 극복하기 위해서는 보다 풍부한 경험을 가능하게 하는 메타버스 요소를 추가하여 개발할 필요가 있다. 메타버스에는 가상세계, 증강현실, 거울세계, 라이프로깅과 같은 요소들이 있으며, 여기에 연대기적 사고력, 역사적 탐구력, 역사적 상상력, 역사적 판단력을 내포한 역사적 경험을 결합한 콘텐츠를 개발할 수 있다. 그렇게 함으로써 대중들은 단순히 역사적 사실을 인식하는 것이 아니라 폭 넓은 역사적 경험을 통해 역사적 사고력을 함양할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Virtual reality contents are used widely in history education by showing the past history and culture that contemporary people can not experience through virtual reality. Especially in the field of Korean ancient history where historical records are lacking, these virtual reality contents are useful for history education. Therefore, many Korean ancient history virtual reality contents have been produced. These can be categorized as restoration type and preservation type, information providing type and experience type. However, current virtual reality contents are limited in terms of developing historical imagination and thinking ability. In order to overcome this, it is necessary to develop metaverse elements that enables a richer experience. Metaverse includes elements such as virtual world, augmented reality, mirror world, and lifelogging, and it can develop content that combines historical experience with chronological thinking, historical exploration, historical imagination, and historical judgment. By doing so, it is expected that the public will be able to cultivate historical thinking abilities through a wide range of historical experiences, rather than simply recognizing historical facts.
