멜로드라마 <밀회>에 나타난 민담 <손 없는 색시>의 원형성과 개성화 과정 비교연구

A Comparative Study on Archetype of a Folktale <The Bride without Hands>, Found in a Melodrama <Secret Love Affair>, andThe Process of Female Individuation

본 연구는 대중적 호응도는 물론 미학적ㆍ예술적 가치를 담보한 텔레비전 멜로드라마 <밀회>의 내적 동력을 민담 서사의 전통에서 탐색하고자 했다. <밀회>는 불륜을 소재로 하고 있지만 실상은 성공과 권력을 추구하며 일에 인생의 최고 가치를 두고 살아가는 현대 여성의 자기실현에 관한 드라마이고, 민담 <손 없는 색시>는 가부장사회를 살아가는 여성의 인격 발달 과정을 보여주는 원형적 서사다. 비교연구 결과 주인공들은 부성 콤플렉스, 모성 콤플렉스, 페르소나, 그림자, 아니무스 등 무의식과 의식 간의 괴리에서 오는 심리적 문제를 통합하고 억압에서 벗어나 자유로운 삶을 살게 되는 공통점이 있다. 현대의 드라마에서도 원형적 서사와 캐릭터는 보편성 확보에 유리하고 대중의 정서에 부합할 가능성이 크다.

<The Bride without Hands> adopts the process of a woman cultivating her character in patriarchal society as its archetypal narrative. <Secret Love Affair> is a TV melodrama having infidelity as its subject matter but simultaneously dealing with the process of self-actualization of a woman living in this age pursuing both success and authority and placing the highest value of life on what she does. The two main characters both come to lead a free life by integrating all the psychological issues originating from the gap between subconsciousness and consciousness, for instance, their father complex, mother complex, persona, shadow and animus. <Secret Love Affair> adopts a Korean folktales as its basic frame while transforming it properly accepting the elements of German folktale as well. The main motif in <The Bride without Hands> is the event that the hand is cut off and then regenerated. In <Secret Love Affair>, the main character becomes free escaping from things like the patriarchal value system, spoilage, or the world full of lies with the chance of falling in love with her disciple who is 20 years younger.
