A Study on Planning and Production of Local Contents with the Case of Imun-dong Cultural Mapping

딱딱한 정보로 존재하던 지도(map)는 이제 개인이 직접 참여하고 제작하는 ‘지도 만들기(mapping)’라는 단계로 진입했다. 지도는 이제 우리 삶의 소중한 것을 기록하고, 공유하는 과정이자 상생과 연대를 가능하게 하는 미디어적 실천과 사유의 도구로 발전하고 있다. 문화지도는 주민이 참여하는 커뮤니티 매핑이다. 지역의 역사와 문화, 이야기를 발굴하고 직접 제작하는 것이 핵심이다. 문화지도는 기존의 지도가 소외시켰던 다양한 로컬 주체들의 목소리를 소환하고, 그들의 삶을 콘텐츠화하여 디지털시대의 새로운 공동체적 연대와 희망을 만들어가는 것을 목표로 한다. 문화지도는 다양한 시선에서 지역을 탐색하면서 사람과 사람, 사람과 공간, 사람과 시간 사이의 문화적 소통을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서는 이문동 문화지도 제작 사례를 통해 디지털미디어 시대 지도가 갖는 문화적 가치와 함의를 분석해보고자 한다. 연구대상은 서울시 동대문구 이문동, 휘경동 일대이다. 한국외대 서울캠퍼스 학생들과 이문동 지역 주민과 상인들이 함께 참여한 로컬콘텐츠 제작과정을 통해 지역문화 활성화 방안으로서 문화지도의 가능성을 탐색해본다.

The map, which existed as solid information, has now entered the stage of ‘mapping’, in which individuals directly participate and produce. The map is now a process of recording and sharing important things in our lives, and it is developing into a medium of action and thought that enables coexistence and solidarity. Cultural map is a community mapping in which residents participate. It is essential to discover the history, culture, and story of the region and to produce it directly. The purpose of the cultural map is to summon the voices of the various local subjects alienated from the existing map and make their lives content and to create new community solidarity and hope in the digital age. The cultural map aims at cultural communication between people and people, people and space, people and time while exploring the area from various perspectives. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cultural values and implications of digital media age map through case studies of Lee Mun - dong cultural map. The research subjects are Lee Moon-dong and Hwigyeong-dong in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. Through the process of producing local contents in which students and local residents and merchants participate together, students will explore the possibilities of local contents as ways to stimulate local culture.
