한중 웹소설의 발전과정과 특징

1990년대 PC통신시대부터 성장한 인터넷소설은 이제 웹소설이라는 이름으로 대중의 사랑을 받고 있다. 21세기 문화상품 중 가장 소구력이 강한 콘텐츠는 웹콘텐츠이다. 한국은 웹툰이 강하고 중국은 웹소설이 상대적으로 강하다. 이 중 웹소설 시장은 한중 모두 지속가능한 대표적인 콘텐츠 분야이다. 한중 웹소설 시장은 양적 성장에 따른 수익 상승, OSMU로 인한 콘텐츠의 소구력, 스마트미디어의 발전에 따른 접근성, 웹소설 전문플랫폼의 활성화 등 수많은 장점과 특징을 갖고 있다. 반면에 문제점도 안고 있다. 진입장벽이 낮아 콘텐츠의 질이 낮고, 저작권 문제와 선정성 등 규제의 문제는 해결해야할 과제 중의 하나이다. 한중 웹소설은 성장 가능성이 매우 높은 대표적인 IP산업 중의 하나이다. 저작권 문제와 다각적인 OSMU 전략, 타 문화산업과 연계와 협업을 통한 발전 모델의 발굴은 한중 웹소설이 안고 있는 과제이다. 특히 한중 웹소설산업의 비즈니스 교류와 협력은 시급한 문제이다. 사드로 인해 중단된 문화산업의 교류와 비즈니스를 연결할 수 있는 분야 또한 웹소설이다. 한중 웹소설은 21세기 신성장동력으로 가장 주목받는 문화산업 분야이다.

Internet novels which have grown since a era of PC communications in 1990 are popular in the name of web novels. Web novel markets in Korea and China have a lot of advantages and characteristics including increasing profits from quantitative growth, appealing power of contents caused by OSMU, accessibility by the development of smart media, and promotion of platform for web novels. On the other hand there are challenges to be addressed. The issue of low quality contents with low entry barrier and regulation on copyrights and inflammatory are one of the challenges to be handled. Web novels in Korea and China are one of the representative IP industry with a high growth potential. Copyrights issue, multilateral OSMU strategy, and discovery of development model through connection to and cooperation with other cultural industry are necessary task of web novels in Korea and China. In particular business exchange and cooperation in web novels in Korea and China are urgent issue. The area to connect exchanges of cultural industry and business which have been suspended by Terminal High Altitude Area Defense(THAAD) is also web novels. Web novels of Korea China are the cultural industry area drawing the most attention as a new growth engine in the 21st century.
