창업ㆍ혁신 맥락에서의 중국 촹커

Maker in China under the Context of Entrepreneurship and Innovation

3D 프린터에서 비롯된 혁신 도구, 인터넷 그리고 개인의 창의적 욕구와 결합하면서 아이디어가 곧 제품으로 구현되는 시대가 도래했다. 이러한 맥락에서 2000년대 이른바 ‘새로운 제조자’를 의미하는 ‘메이커’가 출현한다. 메이커를 둘러싼 혁신 활동은 사회 운동의 물결처럼 인터넷을 타고 전 세계로 빠른 속도로 확산되었다. 메이커 무브먼트는 2010년 태평양을 건너 중국에 상륙하였고, 대륙의 창업ㆍ혁신 바람과 함께 불과 몇 년 사이에 전 중국대륙을 휩쓸면서 ‘촹커 붐’을 일으켰다. 본 연구는 창업ㆍ혁신의 맥락에서 중국 촹커의 발생, 발전 및 확산을 고찰하고자 한다. 우선 서구 메이커의 개념, 탄생 배경, 확산 경로를 검토함으로써 메이커의 실체 및 발전에 필요한 조건에 대해 파악한다. 다음으로 중국 촹커의 개념, 탄생 배경, 확산 경로를 살펴봄으로써 발생 및 확산의 측면에서 촹커와 메이커의 차이를 알아본다. 마지막으로 촹커에서 중촹으로 발전 과정과 특성을 고찰함으로써 중국 촹커의 핵심을 도출한다. 본 연구는 중국 촹커에 대하여 전반적으로 이해하고 파악함으로써 촹커 발전 양상 및 문제 진단에 토대가 될 것이며, 한국 메이커 무브먼트의 발전 연구에도 현실적인 도움이 될 것이다.

Under the collision of Internet, 3D printer and personal innovation desire, the new manufacturer-Maker emerges. Activeness of the makers has advanced the development of the global maker movement. This tide of makers appeared in Shanghai in 2010. It coincides with the current entrepreneurial and innovative policy orientation. Therefore, “maker fever” has boomed from top down. This paper tries to study the emergence, development as well as the formation of makers in China, under the context of entrepreneurship and innovation. First of all, the concept and derivation of Maker in European and American countries are elaborated, and emphasis is laid on the core elements; secondly, the concept and derivation of Maker in China are elaborated, and emphasis is laid on the core elements; finally, the emergence and development path of Maker as well as the conversion from Maker to “crowd innovation” discourse are studied, by combining with China’s historical cultural environment and realistic contexts, and connotations and features of Maker in China are mastered. Thus, not only the nature and existing problems of Maker in China are seized in an all-round way, but the development of Maker and its discourse are practically diagnosed. Meanwhile, this paper plays a certain reference role for Korea, whose maker movement is getting started.
