Death in Venice, which is a drama film directed by Luchino Visconti based on Thomas Mann’s homonymous novella, excels at describing and expressing the atmosphere of the region of Venice. In particular, metaphysical aesthetics of Venice that are embodied through its hybridized regional identity in the film carry various implications, such as aesthetic objects, forms, contents, categories, and experiences.
