역사문화유산을 소재로 한 조선통신사 축제 활성화 방안 연구

A Study on Revitalization Plan for Joseon Tongsinsa Festival as a historic Culture Heritage: Focused on the F.G.I through problems of the festival participants

한ㆍ일간의 270여 년에 걸친 평화 교류의 역사 기록으로 남아있는 조선통신사는 국내에서 ‘조선통신사축제’의 형태로 평화상생의 가치를 후대에 전승하고 있다. 본 연구는 역사문화유산으로서 ‘조선통신사’의 의미를 살펴보고 축제 참가자 Focus Group Interview를 통해 조선통신사 축제의 문제점을 분석하며 향후 활성화 방안에 대한 제언을 하고자 한다. 현재 ‘조선통신사축제’는 통신사 육로의 마지막 여정이었던 부산에서 매년 개최되고 있는데 해양지역문화의 특수성이 축제콘텐츠에 반영이 되고 타 지역과 차별화되는 축제로 개발되어야 함에도 불구하고 여러 가지 문제와 한계점을 드러내고 있다. 따라서 이 글에서는 조선통신사 축제를 구성하는 프로그램을 크게 전시, 체험, 공연 콘텐츠로 나누어 각각의 문제점을 지적하고 그 대안을 제시하며 마지막으로 역사문화유산으로서 가치를 살리기 위한 통신사 축제의 활성화 방안에 대해 논하고자 한다.

This study will examine the meaning of ‘Joseon Tongsinsa’ as a documentary heritage and Through the Focus Group Interview(F.G.I) with the participants in the festival. Currently the ‘Joseon Tongsinsa Festival’ has been held in Busan City which was the final leg of land journey by Tongsinsa but shows many limitations, failing to be developed as a local cultural content with its regional characteristics. Thus, this study will indicate problems of the exhibitions, experiences and performance contents included in the festival, propose alternatives and lastly discuss on the ways to invigorate the festival, highlighting its value as a cultural documentary heritage. First, the festival needs to set up its theme clearly and establish storytelling strategies. Second, detailed strategies need to be devised to restore historical values and modern importance of Joseon Tongsinsa through planning a ‘roadmap for Tongsinsa’s road pilgrimage’, which will be jointly held by Korea and Japan. Third, the quality of exhibitions, experience activities, and show contents utilizing video platform needs to be enhanced. If the Joseon Tongsinsa Festival succeeds in drawing more participations and responses from the public through these improvements, it will be able to become a representative local festival exhibiting regional characteristics as a maritime culture city and further situate itself as a global contents representing the region exceeding a mere historical reconstruction of Tongsinsa.
