ASMR 방송의 실존적 공간 연구

A Study on the Existential Space in ASMR Broadcast

1인 미디어 방송의 영역이 확대됨에 따라 방송의 주요 콘텐츠가 변화하고 있다. 기존의 게임 방송, 먹는 방송, 공부 방송 외에도 시각적 영상 이미지를 중심으로 하는 콘텐츠에서 벗어난 새로운 분야의 형식이 나타났다. 최근 1인 미디어 방송에서 청각적 소리를 중심으로 하는 ASMR 방송이 확산되고 있다. ASMR이란 Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response의 약자로 자율 감각 쾌감 반응을 뜻하는 신조어이다. 이는 듣는 사람으로 하여금 심리적인 안정감이나 쾌감을 주는 특정 소리 혹은 현상을 지칭한다. ASMR 방송은 기본적으로 방송자와 수신자가 일대일의 사적 관계를 형성하는 서사적 배경이 설정되며 따라서 방송자는 속삭이는 소리 혹은 작은 소리 요소들을 중심으로 방송 콘텐츠를 진행한다. 본 논문은 메를로 퐁티(Maurice Merleau-Ponty)의 몸 현상학적 세계 인지 과정에 빗대어 ASMR 방송을 분석하고 이를 통해 방송의 수신자에게 주어지는 실존성의 영역을 고찰하고자 한다. 시각적 영상 이미지 중심의 1인 미디어 방송 플랫폼에서 시각보다 청각을 전면화하는 ASMR 방송의 변별적인 재현 양상을 분석하고 이를 기반으로 ASMR 방송의 수신자가 구축하는 탈-영토화된 층위로서의 가상 공간을 인문학적으로 탐구하고자 하였다. ASMR 방송은 시각 과잉의 1인 미디어 방송에서 청각 중심 콘텐츠를 통해 새로운 일탈적 실존 공간을 제시해준다는 점에서 시대적 의미를 가진다.

Being expanded for one-person broadcasting systems, the contents of one-person broadcast are changing. The one-person broadcasts in the past consisted of visual images like gaming, eating, studying, etc. Recently, the contents using auditory sense, calld ASMR, is rising in Youtube. ASMR is Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Broadcasters of ASMR contents make the YouTube film with the sounds frome tapping, scratching, whispering, muttering and it it gives receivers specific psychological meridian and stability. In the ASMR broadcast contents, a broadcaster and a receiver make one to one relationship in private circumstance like library, hair salon, bedroom, etc. Accordingly, a broadcaster could talk or interact with a receiver using quiet sound. This paper aims to investigate why receivers choice the ASMR broadcast among a lot of one-person broadcasting genres. This study considers that receivers make their virtual space through the sound features in ASMR contents. This study analyzes ASMR broadcast contents in visual effects and auditory installations, and using Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s Phenomenology of Perception to investigate how receivers make their existential space through the ASMR broadcasts. Based on above analysis, this study reveals the meaning of deterritorialization of virtual auditory space of receivers and proves ASMR broadcasts could develop auditory contents in digital media as a new heterotopia.
