문화유산포털의 대중 소통 전략

The Public Communication Strategy on the Cultural Heritage Portal Sites: Focusing on <HERITAGE CHANNEL>

우리 문화재가 그 의미와 가치를 인정받아 속속 세계문화유산으로 등재되고, 문화유산이 무한한 가치의 콘텐츠를 생산할 수 있는 원형으로 주목받게 되면서 이에대한 대중의 관심도 높아졌다. 문화유산은 이제 더 이상 ‘과거’를 대상으로 하는 전문가들만의 영역이 아닌, 우리 모두가 알아야 하고 관심을 가져야 하는 ‘현재’가 된것이다. 이에 따라 문화유산정보를 다루는 포털 역시 대중과의 적극적인 ‘소통’과‘공유’를 위한 새로운 기능과 역할을 부여받고 있다. 본 논문은 2010년 8월 서비스를 개시하여 만 5년째를 맞은 문화유산 전문 포털사이트 <문화유산채널>에 주목하였다. <문화유산채널>은 1차적인 문화유산 정보를 축적하고 전달하는 단계에서 한걸음 더 나아가 그 속에 감추어진 역사의 작은 단서들을 통해 ‘의미’와 ‘재미’를 발굴하고, 이를 다양한 이야기 방식과 매체에 담아냄으로써 문화유산에 대한 보다 적극적이고 폭넓은 접근을 시도하고 있다. <문화유산채널>을 통해 문화유산 포털이수행하고 있는 대중 소통 전략을 알아보고, 개선 방안을 제안함으로써 향후 문화유산 포털의 바람직한 운영 및 발전에 기여하고자 한다.

Public attention has been increasingly drawn to the fact that more and more Korean cultural assets have been designated World Heritage Sites after global recognition has been given to their significance, value and potential as a ‘prototype’ capable of producing cultural content of unlimited value. In this regard, portal services specializing in cultural heritage information has also been given new functions and roles for active ‘communication’ and ‘sharing’ with the public. This research paper pays close attention to Heritage Channel, one of the exclusive online sites, which has been in service since August 2010. Heritage Channel is differentiated in that it does not just stop at simply accumulating and conveying raw data; The Channel goes one step further and discovers interest and significance utilizing small clues hidden in history. It also takes a wide and active approach about cultural heritage via its various storytelling media and methods. With an analysis of Heritage Channel, the paper would contribute to desirable development and operations of cultural heritage portal sites, not only showing main function of these portal sites, but also suggesting activation plan.
