고학력 고령자를 위한 교육문화콘텐츠 개발

Developing Educational and Cultural Contents for Highly-educated Senior Citizens

한국은 경제개발과 사회발전 속에서 노령인구가 지속적으로 증가하는 가운데, 이른바 노인문제라는 새로운 사회현상과 직면하게 되었고, 복지, 교육, 경제 등 여러 층위에서 이에 대한 다각적인 분석과 전망, 그리고 대책이 쏟아져 나오고 있다. 그러나 자살, 여가, 빈곤, 건강, 우울, 고독 등과 같은 노인문제를 접근하는 방식이 저소득, 저학력 노인에집중됨으로써 고학력 노인에 대한 논의는 소홀히 다루어져왔다. 과거와는 달리 노인들의 교육수준이 높아지고 있고 베이비붐 세대까지 고려할 경우 더욱 높아질 것으로 전망되고 있어서 힘없고 무기력하며 지적수준이 떨어지는 현재의 노인에 대한 정형화는 수정될 필요가 있다. 그런 의미에서 그 동안 노인문제에서 소홀히 다루어져왔던 고학력 고령자를 주제로 그들의 삶의 질을 높일 수 있는 새로운 패러다임의 노인교육문화콘텐츠의 개발이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 현대사회가 물질주의적 정보통신사회로 이행함으로써 정보화교육은 그 중요성이 날로 증대되고 있는데, 역설적이게도 이런 사회에서는 인간이라는 문제는 더욱부각될 수밖에 없으며, 교육기관의 질적 수준과 교육방식 또한 재고되어야 한다. 따라서 정보화교육과 인문학교육은 고학력 고령자를 위한교육문화콘텐츠의 시작점이 되어야 하며, 교육의 질적 향상을 위해서는대학과 같은 고등교육기관을 적극 활용할 필요가 있고, 노인의 신체 이동 제약 측면에서 웹 기반의 수업 방식 또한 적극적으로 검토되어야 한다.

Korean society now faces new social phenomena including the problems regarding the elderly. Accordingly, many measures and researches as well as multilateral analyses and prospect have been put in place. However, suicide, leisure, poverty, health, depression and loneliness of the aged have been rather dealt with low-income seniors and less-educated ones, alienating highly-educated seniors. Unlike those of the past, the aged have a benefit of higher education. Considering the baby boomers, it is projected that this phenomenon will be accelerated. Accordingly, the stereotypical image of seniors, who are weak, helpless and less intellectual, has to be rectified. In this regard, this study aims to develop educational cultural contents for seniors in order to promote the quality of their life. As the importance of information literacy is increasing nowadas, a new paradigm is rising with humanistic problems. Teaching information literacy and humanities should be a starting point of educational cultural contents for the aged. Along with higher educational institutes like universities, optimized teaching methods shall be developed and utilized for better services.
