건축공간구성에 있어서 위치적 의미의 기호특성에 관한 연구

A study on the Semiotic Characters of Positional Meaning in the Architectural Space Composition

본 논문은 건축공간과 이용자 간의 소통회복을 통한 인간 삶의 향상을 목적으로 건축공간 구성 시 고려되는 위치적 의미의 기호특성을 밝히고자 하였다. 건축공간을 다양한 기호의 총체로 인식할 수 있다는 전제 하에 건축공간의 기호적 특성과 건축공간에서 작용하는 위치적 의미를 살펴보았다. 본타(J. P. Bonta)의 구분에 따른 위치적 의미는 체계적 의미와 구분되는 의미로써 외적 상황에 의해 요구되어지기 보다는 내적 요구가 더 크게 작용한다. 위치적 의미의 기호특성 파악을 위하여 기호체계를 제시하였으며, 이를 통하여 2014년 세계건축페스티벌에서 대상에 선정된 ‘더 채플’을 분석하였다. 분석결과 시각관계, 접근관계, 소속관계가 위치적 의미에 따른 건축공간의 기의(Signifie)와 기표(Signifiant)사이에서 주요하게 작용하는 의미소 축이자 의미작용으로써, 위치적 의미의 기호특성으로 작용될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the semiotic characters of positional meaning that is considered in architectural composition. Positional meaning is about the relational view between compositions to form architectural space. So, this study will contribute to a better understanding among users of architectural space. A major premise is that architectural spaces are composed of various symbols. And architectural spaces are artificial symbol rather than natural symbol, it is an interrelated symbol rather than arbitrary symbol. To get the semiotic characters of positional meaning, this study used a meaning-form model which was suggested by J.P. Bonta. And analysed the ‘The chapel’ that was selected as this year’s world architecture by world architectural festival(WAF)As spaces analysis result, we found that visual relationship, accessible relationship and belonging relationship are the main characters of positional meaning. These results will be attributed to make an architectural space composition that reflects the user’s needs.
