히스토리핀을 활용한 전주한옥마을의 근현대 기억 디지털아 카이브 구축 방안

Collecting and Utilizing of Modern and Contemporary Memories of Jeonju Hanok Village by Historypin

전주한옥마을은 한국의 근ㆍ현대 한옥이 군락을 이루고 있는 유일한 도심속 주거지로, 자연적으로 형성된 마을이다. 1900년대 초부터 사람들은 도심 속 한옥촌이라는 특수한 공간을 생활터전으로 삼으면서 전주 도심의 유일무이한 독특한 지역정체성을 형성해 왔다. 하지만 최근 들어 상업화ㆍ관광화가 빠르게 진행되면서 전주한옥마을의 근현대 기억은 과거 주민들이 방문하고 이용했던 장소들과 이곳에 오랫동안 거주해 온 원주민들, 그리고 현재 새롭게 생성된 장소들과 이주민 및 관광객들의 기억들로 혼재되고, 마을의 정체성은 모호해지고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 마을의 정체성을 형성하는데 있어서 한옥마을 주민들과 관광객들의 기억에 주목하여 이들의 기억이 수집되고 보존되어야 함을 언급하면서, 이를 디지털 아카이브화 하는 것이 필요하다고 주장하고 있다. 또한 전주한옥마을의 근현대 기억을 수집하고 디지털 아카이브화 하여 활용하는 데 있어 유용한 도구적틀로써 히스토리핀을 적용해 볼 것을 제안하고 있다. 히스토리핀은 장소를 기반으로 자발적인 집단 지성의 기억을 공유하기 때문에 장소와 관계되는 기억의 수집 주체와 내용에 있어서 다양성을 추구할 수 있고, 온라인상에서 공유되는 디지털 아카이브라는 점에서 시간과 장소에 상관없이 접근이 용이해 참여가 자유롭다는 이점이 있다. 때문에 전주한옥마을의 근현대 기억을 수집하고 아카이브화 하고 활용하는 작업뿐 아니라 국내형 디지털 아카이브 구축 모델 개발 연구에 있어서도 하나의 사례로써 살펴볼 수 있을 것이라 기대된다.

Jeonju Hanok Village is a residential area in downtown in Jeonju. There are contemporary and modern Korean Style houses, and it had formed naturally. Since the early 1900s, People have lived in Hanok Village in downtown, not normally, and formed unique local identity in Jeonju. But recently it is becoming more and more commercialized. So Modern-Contemporary memories of Jeonju Hanok village consist of memories of the past and present place and people, also are coexisting in the village. For that reason local identity of Village is becoming increasingly blurred. To form a village identity, it needs to collect and preserve memories of resident and tourist and archive digitally. This paper aims to propose that Historypin is a useful tool for collecting their memories and utilizing it as digital archive. Historypin is sharing place-based data on the google map. It connects memory to place in terms of proceeding of memory’s collection-sharing-preservation-utilization step by step. Hence, this paper takes note of Historypin’s role, function, advantage and examines the method of grafting it for collecting and utilizing the modern and contemporary memories of Jeonju Hanok village. Also it is considered as a case study creating a new domestic model of digital archive.
