Seoul City Bus Information System(BIS) Case Study: Analysis of the Effect of User View

Mere improvement of road conditions alone, there are limits. Therefore, in accordance with the appropriate traffic demand management measures should be sought to enable public transport. Seoul City’s ITS(Intelligent Transport System) was planned comprehensively in 2000 to solve traffic problems and to improve the transportation system. When seeing from user viewpoint, the bus information system reduces psychological waiting time of the passenger and an expectation discord. Also this system raises a usability of city bus and a service quality of public transportation, ultimately, the city bus information system aims to maximize bus utilization.
