Family Human Rights Infringement Recognition and Status for Family Human Rights Education

본 연구는 일반 시민들이 가족인권침해의 심각성을 얼마나 느끼고, 관련 교육이 필요하다고 생각하는지 요구 정도를 파악하고, 실제 가족 내에서 발생하는 인권침해의 실태를 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 서울에 거주 중인 15세 이상부터 60대까지 시민 632명이며 온라인 패널을 구축하고 있는 조사업체에 위탁하여 2019년 11월 21일부터 11월 28일까지 자료를 수집하였다. 자료처리는 기술통계와 연구대상의 집단비교를 통해 분석하였다. 본 연구에 대한 결과는 첫째, 우리사회의 가족인권침해에 대한 전반적 인식은 ‘심각하다’에 가깝게 나타났다. 둘째, 우리사회의 가족 내 사회적소수자에 대한 인권침해에 대한 인식은 ‘심각하다’로 조사되었다. 셋째, 주제별 가족인권교육의 필요성 인식은 10가지 교육주제에 대하여 각 교육주제별 ‘필요하다’이상의 인식을 나타냈으며, 특히 부모-자녀관계에서의 인권교육 요구도가 높았다. 넷째, 응답자의 가족 내 인권침해 실태는 우리사회 전반적 상황에 대한 인식과 비교해서는 심각하지 않다고 응답하였으나, 연령별 차이가 드러났다. 다섯째, 가족 내 사회적 소수자에 대한 편견 및 차별 실태는 젠더, 학력·학벌과 관련하여 가장 심각한 것으로 조사되었다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of general citizens about the seriousness of human rights violations in families and to identify the human rights education needs for families. Data were collected through an online survey between November 21 and November 28, 2019, from 632 citizens who were 15 years old or older and living in Seoul. The results of this study were as follows. First, the overall perception of the violation of human rights in families in our society was found to be serious . Second, the human rights abuses against the social minorities from each family were recognized as ‘serious’. Third, the human rights education needs for families were generally high for all ten educational subjects, and the human rights education needs related to parent-child relationships were the highest. Fourth, the respondents said that the human rights violations in their own families were not as serious as the overall perception of the situation in our society, but differences by age groups were revealed. Fifth, the prejudice and discrimination against social minorities within the respondents’ families were the most serious in relation to gender, educational achievement, and physical traits
