본 연구는 충청북도 내 유치원 및 초등학교 저학년을 대상으로 한 어린이 교통안전 교육의 효과성 측정 및 개선방안 마련에 목적이 있다. 본 연구에 대한 분석결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 어린이 교통안전 교육의 효과성에 대한 분석결과는 교통안전 교육이 교통안전 지식 향상에는 긍정적인 영향을 미치나 교통안전 문제해결 사고능력 변화에는 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 교통안전 교육으로는 위험상황 속에서 어린이 교통안전 문제해결 사고능력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 분석할 수 있다. 그러나 교통안전 교육이 교통사고 감소에 미치는 영향 또한 간과 하기는 어려운 바, 이에 대한 지속적인 연구를 실시하여 교통안전 지식 향상 뿐 아니라 어린이 스스로 문제를 해결하는 능력을 키워줄 수 있는 교통안전 교육이 되도록 개선방안을 마련해야 할 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze and assess the effects of children s traffic safety education, on the basis of the above background, and to prepare plans for improvement. The major findings of this study are as follows; the analysis of the results showed that traffic safety education has no positive effect on thinking ability for solving problems, while it has effects on the improvement of children s traffic safety knowledge. Therefore, it is deemed that diverse and systematic traffic safety education for cultivating ability to solve problems as well as for improving traffic safety knowledge should be prepared, for which cooperation and support from agencies concerned are required.
