영상아카이브로서 멀티미디어형 전자책 출판 시론

An Exploration on Possibility of Publishing Multimedia-typed Electronic Book as Video Archive - Focusing on a Case of <Walking into the World on KBS>

본고는 방송영상콘텐츠인 <KBS 걸어서 세계 속으로>라는 프로그램 제작과정에서 생산한 영상물을 활용하여 2차, 3차 파생콘텐츠로 OSMU(원소스멀티유즈), OSMD(원소스멀티디바이스)를 지속하고 있다는 점에 주목하고, 멀티미디어형전자책의 출판도 가능(혹은 필요)하다는 점을 살펴보고자 한다. 특히 프로그램의 특장점인 영상콘텐츠가 멀티미디어형전자책과 가장 밀접한 연계성이 있고, 이러한 영상콘텐츠는 전통적인 영상아카이브와는 다른 형태를 보이면서 하나의 완성된 콘텐츠로도 의미가 있다는 점을 상기하면서, 아카이브의 형식으로서 전자책의 출판을 제안하고, 그 가능성을 살피고자 한다. 이는 특정 방송프로그램의 콘텐츠전략과 파생콘텐츠 제작 사례가 여타의 경쟁, 혹은 유사 프로그램의 파생콘텐츠 확장에도 영향을 줄 수 있다는 점에서 사례연구로서 유의미한 측면이 있다고 생각한다.

This study is what seeks the specific realization of video archive using the broadcasting image contents from the publication of multimedia-typed electronic book on the assumption that an electronic book may be a form of archive. There is a current tendency that an electronic publishing market keeps on being spread, that an interest is getting higher in publishing multimedia-typed electronic book using screen image(photo, moving image, culture map, info-graphic, etc.), and that even the publishing cases are growing. The purpose of this study is to examine what even the publication of a multimedia-typed electronic book is possible(or necessary), with paying attention to continuing OSMU(One-Source Multi-Use), OSMU(One-Source Multi-Device) as the secondary and tertiary derived contents through applying image data, which were produced in the process of making a program titled <Walking into the World on KBS>, which is the broadcasting video content. The aim is to suggest the publication of electronic book as a form of archive and to inquire into its possibility while recalling a point especially that the image content has the closest correlation with the multimedia-typed electronic book as a special merit of the program, and that this image content has a significance even as one completed content with showing a different form from traditional video archive. This is thought to have a significant aspect as a result of a case research in that a content strategy and a derived-content making case in a specific broadcasting program may have influence even upon the extension of the derived contents in other rival or similar programs
