중국 지폐의 도안과 의의에 관한 연구

Renminbi’s Designs and Implications in China

본 논문은 중국의 지폐 도안 분석을 통해 지폐가 가지는 의의에 대해서 연구한다. 지폐는 국가의 중앙은행이 주로 발행하고 있으며, 단순한 거래수단의 의미뿐만 아니라 여러 가지 다른 의의들을 가지고 있다. 따라서 지폐에 대한연구는 경제적인 측면에서도 나름대로의 의의가 있다고 본다. 중국은 역사적으로 수많은 지폐들을 발행하였다. 본 논문은 특히 중화인민공화국이 발행한 지폐 즉 인민폐를 중심으로 도안이 가지는 의의를 크게 다섯 가지로 요약해 보았다. 첫째는 국가적 의의이다. 인민폐는 국가를 상징하는 도안들, 국장, 국가지도자, 인민대회당 등을 통해 국가의 권위를 나타내고 있다. 특히 그 중에서도 국장은 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 도안이다. 둘째는 민족적 의의이다. 중국은 다민족 국가이다. 따라서 민족의 통합은 중요한 국가적 과제이다. 따라서 중국은 지폐에 각 소수민족의 도안들을 사용함으로써 민족의 화합을 도모하고있다. 이외에도 소수민족의 언어를 지폐에 사용함으로써 민족적 의의를 더욱 강화하고 있다. 셋째는 역사적 의의이다. 역사적 의의는 크게 혁명역사와 전통역사로 구분된다. 대부분은 혁명역사 위주로 지폐의 도안이 구성되어 있다. 넷째는 경제적 의의이다. 중국은 국가의 성립과 동시에 가장 큰 과제가 바로 경제발전이었다. 특히 인민폐 제2판과 제3판의 도안들은 주로 경제발전에 필요한 도안들로 집중되어 있다. 이는 당시의 시대적 과제를 반영하고 있는 것이다. 다섯째는 바로 문화적 의의이다. 인민폐는 특히 꽃과 새의 도안을 통해 중화민족이 가지는 문화적 대표성을 강조하고 있다. 즉 이들 꽃과 새에는 각각 문화적 상징성을 가진 이야기가 포함되어 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the design and its implications of Renminbi in China. The paper money issues from the central bank of nation, and it has not only transaction instrument’s role, but also has the another implications. In particular, this study summarizes five aspects from the Renminbi’s implications. First is the national implication. Renminbi make its appearance from the national emblem, the national leaders, and the Great Hall of the Peoples, especially shows the national authority. Second is the racial implication. China is the multi-racial nation. And racial unification is the national subject. So, China plans to unify the multi-racial from the using minority race’s designs and languages. Third is the historical implication. It include the revolutionary history and the traditional history. Mostly, the designs of Renminbi has the revolutionary historical implication. Fourth is the economical implication. After the establishment of nation, the economic development is the most important issue in China. So, the second publication and third publication of Renminbi mainly use the economical designs. Fifth is the cultural implication. Renminbi use the design of flowers and birds, point out the ethnical characteristics.
