보고 오즈 비의 신뢰구간을 활용한 연관성 유무 판정 방안

A Method of Association Rule Evaluation by Estimation of Reporting Odds Ratio

약물의 부작용에 대한 자발적 신고체계는 시중에 판매된 약물의 실마리정보를 확인하는 데 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 의약품의 유해사례 분석에 활용되는 실마리정보 지표들 가운데 보고 오즈 비에 대해 데이터 마이닝에서의 연관성 존재 여부를 판정하기 위한 도구로의 활용 가능성 여부를 타진하였다. 보고 오즈 비는 특정 약물로 인해 발생한 유해사례의 오즈를 특정 약물 이외의 약물로 인해 발생한 유해 사례의 오즈로 나눔으로써 계산된다. 이러한 보고 오즈 비는 네 가지 유형의 신뢰도, 즉 두 종류의 음의 신뢰도와 양과 역의 신뢰도를 모두 사용한 측도로써 연관성 평가 정도를 잘 나타내주는 측도라고 할 수 있다. 또한 예제를 통해 변화하는 양상을 살펴본 결과, 만약 보고 오즈 비의 크기가 1을 초과하면 긍정적인 관련성이 부정적인 관련성 보다 더 크며, 1보다 작으면 부정적인 관련성이 긍정적인 연관 관계보다 더 큰 것으로 생각할 수 있다. 그런데 음의 신뢰도의 크기에 비해 양과 역의 신뢰도의 크기가 얼마나 커야하는지에 대한 기준이 없으므로 신뢰도 측도들만으로는 연관성 규칙의 유의미한 기준을 만들기가 어렵다. 그러나 보고 오즈 비의 신뢰구간 상한의 값이 0보다 작으면 음의 연관성이 존재하는 것으로, 보고 오즈 비의 신뢰구간 하한의 값이 1보다 크면 양의 연관성이 있는 것으로 판단할 수 있다.

Voluntary reporting of adverse effects of drugs plays an important role in identifying signal about drugs on the market. In this paper, we analyzed the possibility of using as a tool to determine association rule in data mining for reporting odds ratio among the signal indicators for the analysis of adverse drug cases. The reporting odds ratio is the odds of adverse events caused by a particular drug divided by the odds of adverse events caused by other drugs. The reporting odds ratio can be thought of as a measure that uses four types of confidence, that is, two types of negative and positive and inverse confidence, and faithfully expresses the association criterion. In addition, the example shows that if the value of the reporting odds ratio exceeds 1, positive association magnitude is greater than negative magnitude. By the way, since there is no criterion for how large the magnitude of the positive and inverse confidence should be compared with the magnitude of the negative confidence, it is difficult to make a meaningful criterion of the association rule by the confidence measures alone. However, if the upper bound of the confidence interval of the reporting odds ratio is less than zero, there is a negative correlation.
