As a means of human expression, makeup reflects the social and historical consciousness of the time and appeared in various forms. The purpose of this study is to understand that male cremation in history has been influenced by religious ideas, and the conscious behavior formed on this basis is male cremation. To this end, a comparison of religious education and cremation culture was made of the Hwarang of Silla and the Sonbi of Joseon, who served as social leaders of the two periods, against the backdrop of the Silla and the Joseon Dynasties, which had different religions and ideas. As a result, Silla s Hwarang and Joseon’s Sonbi developed their bodies and minds according to religious ideas to display their rank and status, and were able to stand out through makeup.
