Consideration of New Paradigm for Expansion of the Part Material Industry between Korea-Japan Cooperation

This study aims to provide a New Paradigm for Expansion of the Part Material Industry between Korea-Japan Cooperation. Based on an analysis of the Asian International Input-Output Table (1985, 1990, 1995, 2000), focuses on analyzing the structural factors in the trade imbalance between Korea and Japan. Considering the part material industry structures of the two countries, special attention was paid to the manufacturing sectors. In particular, we measured the international technological specialization (ITS) index between Japan and Korea, which provided a foundation for studying the structure of Korea s the part material industry heavy dependence on Japan s the part material industry. The empirical results showed that Korea still depends quite heavily on imported the part material industry from Japan. The results also showed clearly that Japan is gradually becoming more dependent on Korea s the part material industry. This implies that the technology gap between Korea and Japan has gradually narrowed throughout the sample period. And this paper also derives from the Method of four for expansion of part material industry in Korea-Japan cooperation.
