다이어그램의 개념, Bacon의 다이어그램, 그리고 Bacon의 회화적 준칙이 예술교육과 미술교육에 주는 시사점

The concept of diagram, Bacon’s diagram, and his pictorial maxims and their implications in the education of arts and fine art based on Gilles Deleuze’s works and his perspective

Deleuze는, 구상적 회화와 추상적 회화 사이에서 형상적 회화공간을 연 화가 Bacon의 회화와 면담을 면밀하게 검토하고, 『프랜시스 베이컨: 감각의 논리』라는 저서를 출간한다. 이 논문은 Deleuze의 저서들과 관점을 기반으로 하여, 다이어그램의 개념과 그 특징, Bacon의 다이어그램, 그리고 Bacon의 회화적 준칙을 추출하고, 그 각각이 예술교육과 미술교육에 어떠한 시사점을 주는지 밝힌다. 다이어그램은 추상성, 기계성, 고유성의 특징을 가지며, 이에 따라 Bacon의 다이어그램은 선과 색, 우연, 그리고 분리의 특징을 가진다. 다이어그램과 회화를 연결하는 Bacon의 주체성은 회화적 준칙 17개로 요약된다. 결론적으로 이 논문은 예술교육은 교육 일반의 탁월한 모델이자 도덕을 선도할 역량을 가지고 있고, 색채의 감응력을 키우는 미술교육은 교육의 핵심에 위치하며, 우연과 실험의 적극적 도입은 미술교육의 본질을 이룬다는 점을 시사점으로 제시한다.

The purpose of this research is, based on the works of Deleuze, to explore the concept and the general characteristics of diagram, the particular features of Bacon’s diagram, and Bacon’s pictorial maxims, and to examine their implications in the education of arts and fine art from Deleuze’s perspective. A thousand plateaus and Francis Bacon: the logic of sensation are Deleuze’s works this research mainly depends on. To explore the concept of diagram and the general characteristics of it, the researcher depends on the former work. The particular features of Bacon’s diagram are line and color, chance, and separation, corresponding to the general characteristics, i.e. abstractness, machinism, and uniqueness. Soon after 17 pictorial maxims which Bacon might have in mind at pre-pictorial phase are presented. In the last part of this paper, the researcher discusses several educational issues, such as the education of diagram, of spirituality, of chance, of tradition, and of autonomous arts, and presents some implications: education of arts as the superme model of education in general and as the leader of the morality as well as the knowledge; education of fine art as the core part of education in way of colorism, as the game of chance, and as the experimentation of the pictorial tradition.
