This paper investigates the determinants of Korean firm’s foreign direct investments in East-Asian Countries. The variables used in previous studies of FDI in developing countries form the basis for this study’s empirical tests. The method of analysis is a multiple regression of cross-section & time series pooling analysis for multiple-industry Korean manufacturing firms. As a result of the test, the variables of employment costs(WP), labor intensity(LI), capital productivity(RE), dummy(DI) of the characteristics of industry(labor or capital intensive) were found as a determinants of Korean firm’s FDI in East-Asian countries. This finding supports the view that the primary motivation of Korean companies to invest in developing countries is seeking production efficiency.
