Development and Validation of the Work Value Scale for University Students in Holland

본 연구의 목적은 Holland 직업적 성격유형에 기반한 대학생용 직업가치관 척도를 개발하는 데 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 1차 문항 선정과정에서는 문헌 조사와 함께 제주지역 대학교 1~4학년 남녀 81명을 대상으로 Holland 워크숍을 실시하여 총 491문항의 척도 시안을 추출해냈다. 2차 문항 선정과정에서는 두 차례 Holland 전문가의 내용타당도 검증 과정을 통해 87개 문항을 도출하였다. 3차 문항 선정과정에서는 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하여 이론적 근거에 의한 6개 요인의 최종 48개 문항으로 압축된 최종 척도를 개발하였다. 마지막 과정에서는 개발된 최종 척도에 대한 확인적 요인분석과 유형별 문항 전체에 대한 상관관계에 의한 문항 분석을 통해 척도의 타당도가 확보되었다. 본 연구 결과에서 나타난 주요 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자신의 직업 가치관과 직업의 합리적인 매칭을 통해서, 미래 직업생활에서의 스트레스를 줄이며 보다 만족스러운 직업활동을 할 수 있도록 하는 데 지표가 될 수 있을 것이다. 둘째, 진로지도에 널리 사용되고 있는 Holland의 이론을 적용한 Holland 적성탐색검사와 연계 및 기존의 Holland 진로정보 등의 다양한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있다. 셋째, 본 연구에서 개발한 척도는 이론적 근거뿐 아니라 Holland 워크숍에 참가한 대학생들의 특징 및 경험적 자료도 함께 수집․분석하여 척도 문항들을 제작하였다는 특징이 있다. 넷째, 본 검사 도구는 대학생들이 자신의 직업가치관에 대해 자기 평점을 하는 방식이며 문항 수를 고려할 때, 단시간에 효율적으로 평가할 수 있다는 점에서 직․간접적으로 대학 진로상담 현장에서 대학생 진로에 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to develop the work value scale for university students in Holland based on Holland s vocational personality type. To this end, items were In the first item selection process, along with literature review, Holland workshop was performed targeting 81 male and female Jeju National University students (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors), and a total of 491 items were derived for the draft of the scale. In the second item selection process, 87 items were derived by Holland professionals through two times of verification of content validity. In the third item selection process, exploratory factor analysis was conducted to develop the final scale consisting of 48 items of 6 factors based on theoretical background. In the last process, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on the final scale, and then item analysis was performed on the correlations between the whole items by types to secure the validity of the scale. The main implications of the study results can be summarized as below. First, the study results could help university students match their work value with actual occupation to reduce stress in the future workplace and perform satisfactory working activity. Second, the study results could be combined with Holland vocational exploration test or vocational preference test applying the theories of Holland widely used for career instruction, and further, could add various pieces of information including the existing career information of Holland. Third, as for the scale developed in this study, its items were based not only on theoretical background but also on the analysis of the characteristics and empirical data of the university students that participated in Holland workshop. Fourth, the scale could actually help in university students’ career selection at the career counseling site in that they would be able to efficiently evaluate their work value as they could score their items themselves due to the small number of items.
