순천만습지 주변해역의 해수유동 특성

Flow Characteristics of Suncheon Bay Wetlands

This study was carried out to find a way to sustain and preserve salt marshes of Suncheon Bay, on the basis of comprehensive field data such as weather, tide, tidal current, SS and sediment. Temporal and spatial variations in the flow were examined in terms of numerical experiments by EFDC(Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code) model. It turned out that a semidiurnal tide is predominant since the tide form ratio ranges from 0.23 to 0.25. Also, Suncheon Bay revealed the flow to be relatively weak in the intertidal zones whereas it revealed the flow to be strong in the waterways. Thus, the result of this study proved to fairly reflect real flow conditions in Suncheon Bay so that it is expected to be helpful to effectively sustain and preserve salt marshes of Suncheon Bay.
