In order to estimate the flows around Namhae Island in the South sea of Korea, current observations were carried out at five observational stations. Currents were measured at St. K1~K5 which represent Namhae Island~Changsun Island strait, Changsun Island~Samchunpo strait, Noryang strait, the east of Kwangyang Bay and Yeosuhaeman strait for 25 hours simultaneously in spring and neap tide. Semi-diurnal tides are dominant and their factors are 0.21~0.23 at the surrounding of Namhae Island. The tidal differences and the mean high water intervals increase from the east to the west around Namhae Island. Currents flow in Yeosuhaeman strait and Changsun Island~Samchunpo strait simultaneously, then go through the east of Kwangyang Bay and Noryang strait in spring tide. In spring tide, the two flood flows join at Jinju Bay and run out Namhae Island~Changsun Island strait. Namhae Island~Changsun Island strait have 3 hour’s lag of the flood current in contrast to Changsun Island~Samchunpo strait. On the other hand, currents flow in Yeosuhaeman strait and Namhae Island~Changsun Island strait simultaneously and join around Changsun Island~Samchunpo strait in neap tide. In neap tide, the currents at Changsun Island~Samchunpo strait and Yeosuhaeman strait show the reverse of phase.
