Autonomy, Relationships, and Citizenship in Moral Textbooks for Elementary School

이 연구는 현재 초등 도덕과 교과에서의 자율성, 관계성, 시민성의 실태를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2015 개정 3학년에서 6학년까지 도덕과 교과서의 각 단원에서 학습목표, 학습내용을 내용분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구결과 첫째, 자율성 관련 단원에서는 자기통제를 다루는 단원이 대부분이었고, 자기결정을 다루는 단원은 하나에 불과했다. 또한 자율성 단원에서 다루어지는 가치들은 지나치게 성취 중심적이고, 공동체적이었다. 둘째, 관계성 관련 단원에서 가족관계나 친구관계 그리고 봉사관계에서는 배려의 가치가 강조되었고, 불특정 다수를 대상으로 하는 예절관계에서는 존중의 가치가 강조되었고, 갈등관계에서는 공감적 대화가 강조되었다. 셋째, 시민성 관련 단원에서 비지배 자유의 조건으로 존중, 공정성, 인권 등이 다루어지고 있었고, 시민적 덕성으로 공공장소 예절, 통일의지, 인류애 등이 다루어지고 있다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 초등 도덕 교과서에서의 자율성, 관계성, 시민성의 과제를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine autonomy, relationships, and citizenship in moral textbooks for elementary school. To accomplish the purpose of this study, we examined the learning goals and contents in each units of the textbooks using content analysis. The results are as follows. First, in the units related to autonomy, it appeared that most units deal with self-control and only one deal with self-determination. In addition, it appeared that the values in the units related to autonomy are too achievement-oriented and community-oriented. Second, in units related to relationships, it appeared that the value of care is emphasized in family, friends, and volunteer, and the value of respect is emphasized in etiquette for unspecified majority. It appeared that empathic dialogue is emphasized in the conflict. Third, in units related citizenship, it appeared that virtues such as respect, fairness, and human rights are treated as a condition of non-dominant freedom. And etiquette in public places, will of unification, and humanity are treated as a civil virtue. Finally, we presented the tasks of autonomy, relationship, and citizenship in moral textbooks for elementary school.
