For All Who Want to ‘Speak’ - Diachronic Study of Tendency of AAC Users Perception and Demand Changes

본 연구는 구어로 의사소통이 어려운 사람들이 사회 안에서 상호작용 하고 삶의 질을 높이기 위해 필요한 의사소통의 대체 수단인 보완대체의사소통(AAC) 사용에 대한 사용자의 인식과 현장에서 느끼는 어려운 점, 요구사항이 지난 20여 년 동안 어떻게 변화해 왔는지 문헌연구를 통해 통시적으로 살펴보고 이로부터 AAC의 보편적이고 일반적인 사용을 위해 향후 필요한 연구 분야가 무엇인지에 대한 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 학술연구 데이터베이스에서 ‘보완대체의사소통, 인식’, ‘보완대체의사소통, 경험’, ‘보완대체의사소통, 요구’, ‘보완대체의사소통, 지원’을 주제어로 하여 검색된 364개의 문헌 중 선별된 30개의 문헌을 검토하였으며, 그 결과 (1)사용자들은 지난 20여 년 동안 AAC 중재에 대해 유사한 인식과 어려운 점을 갖고 있고, (2)사용자 간 연계와 협력이 중요함에도 불구하고 그 전략이나 방법론, 사례 등에 대한 연구는 극히 드물었으며, (3)지역사회 내 일반적인 AAC의 사용을 위한 연구는 전무했음을 파악할 수 있었다. 또한, (4)지속적으로 제기되는 요구사항에 총체적으로 대응하기 위한 추진 주체, 정책 방향, 정책적 전략이나 방법에 대한 연구도 없었음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 AAC의 보편적, 일상적 사용을 위해 향후 필요한 연구 방향은 (1)지역사회 내 일반적인 AAC 사용을 위한 적용 방법, 비장애인의 인식 및 이해도 제고 방안 연구, (2)사용자 간 연계와 협력 체계 및 방법론, 사례 연구, 그리고 (3)AAC 관련 현안을 일관되고 총괄적으로 파악하고 대응하는 추진 체계 및 방법에 대한 정책연구 등이라는 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다.

The Augmented and Alternative Communication(AAC) is to support people with difficulties in verbal communication to interact and improve quality of life in society. The purpose of this study is to examine through literature review how AAC users perception, difficulties in daily life and demands have changed for last around 20 years, and to derive which research subjects are needed in the future for the universal use of AAC. Using academic treatise DB, with search words AAC, perception , AAC, experience , AAC, demand , AAC, supply , 364 papers are checked, and 30 papers of them are finally selected to examine. The examination reveals (1)users have been perceiving and experiencing AAC in a very similar way for last around 20 years, (2)although engagement and collaboration between different user groups are important, the research about methodologies, methods, cases for it are extremely rare, (3)there are no research to implement AAC s universal use in the community. And the examination also points out (4)the organization, policies, strategies, and tactics to respond on the whole users continuos demands have not been studied ever. Based on these findings, the possible research subjects to contribute AAC s universal use in daily life are (1)AAC implementation methodologies in the community, and how to improve people s perception and understanding about AAC, (2)inter-AAC users engagement and collaboration structure, methodologies, case studies, and (3)policy organization and methodologies to respond issues related to AAC.
