한국현대사와 박물관 전시

전시와 ‘한국근현대사’ 시점 넘어 보기

현대사박물관은 소통의 공간이 되어야 한다. 그리고 자신의 역사에 물을 수 있는 공간으로 역사학의 큰 흐름을 이해하는 공간이 되어야 한다. 또한 이곳의 주체는 사람이고, 그곳에서 일하는 사람의 공간이도 하다. 한국에서의 역사 전시는 역사상의 구성에 주안점이 맞추어져 있다. 한국근현대사에서 한국현대사로 역사인식 틀의 전환을 통한 전시의 새로운 틀을 만들어 가는 것이 필요하다. 이러한 전제 아래 한국현대사의 전시 방향을 보다 구체화하기 위해서는 다음과 같은 요소에 주목할 필요가 있다. 첫째, 한국현대사 전시는 선행 연구를 입체적으로 구성하는 시도 아래, 다양한 진행의 입장의 논점을 논의에 기초해 수용하고 이를 전시를 통해 반영해야 한다. 둘째, 한국현대사의 다양성에 대한 관람객의 이해를 증진하는데 교육적 요소와 함께 즐거움을 느낄 수 있는 요소가 동시에 제공되어야 한다. 셋째, 역사 전시와 현대사 전시의 보편성과 특수성을 조화롭게 운영할 필요가 있다.

Museum of contemporary history should be communication space and the place is for understanding wider flow of history where asking questions at the same time. Principal for the museum should be human being and for those working in the museum. Historical exhibition in Korea yet focus mainly on historical composition. Museum should be altered its exhibit shape from Contemporary to Modern history. By the idea of this, it is necessary that giving attention to following elements to actualize Korean modern history’s exhibition. First of all, under an attempt to construct various view of study, the Korean modern history exhibition should accept the points of variety of progressive positions on the basis of discussion. Particularly, Academic research is the starting point of popularization, which should form the framework of the exhibition, and the richness of the scenario would be required. In particular, the composition of the exhibition scenario will require the opinions of curators, education experts, exhibition designers and other members of the art room. Second, both educational and enjoyable elements should be provided to promote visitors understanding of the diversity of Korean modern history at the same time. In fact, in many cases, historical exhibitions at museum sites have not been completed by exhibitions alone. Therefore, I think understanding by educational program is a way to double the effect of the necessary exhibition. In general, the Museum of History is an easy place to become familiar with educational programs. The process of understanding history through exhibition is to create a specific historical image based on the original data, and to make the process of making history a program itself is easier to improve efficiency than any other exhibition space from an educational point of view. In the case of modern Korean history, the public interest is higher than any other times, so the educational curriculum may be higher. Third, the universality and specialty of modern history exhibition needs to be operated in harmony. Significance of this is that the viewer s position and curiosity should be noticed. In addition, benefits of art exhibitions and science development should be the start of modern history exhibition. Also, modern Korean history exhibition should be prepared by harmonized intentions and effects. The important thing in exhibition of the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History is that role of the curator who reflect status of Korea’s consensus and peace community.
