한국장학재단 장학금 수혜 대학생의 대학적응 유형 변화와 장학금의 영향

College Adjustment and the Attainment of Korea Student Aid Foundation’s Financial Aid

본 연구는 한국장학재단이 제공하는 장학금을 수혜한 대학생의 대학적응 잠재유형을 분류하고 잠재유형 전이에 있어 한국장학재단 장학금 지원의 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 한국장학재단이 지원하는 장학금 혜택을 받은 2,179명이며, 대학적응 유형파악과 변화를 분석하기 위해 잠재전이 분석(Latent Transition Analysis)을 적용하였다. 연구결과, 대학생의 학교 적응에는 적응 수준 차이에 따라 집단을 나눌 수 있었으며 등록금 부담감이 낮고 학자금 지원만족도가 높을수록 보다 높은 적응도를 보이는 집단에 속할 가능성이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 대학적응 변화에 있어 한국장학재단의 학자금 지원은 더 긍정적인 대학적응 양상을 보이는 집단에 속할 가능성을 높였다. 이를 바탕으로 학생의 높은 등록금 부담감은 대학적응에 부정적인 영향을 주는 반면 만족스러운 학자금 지원은 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구는 한국장학재단의 장학금 지원의 성과의 지표로써 대학생의 대학적응의 다양한 양상을 파악하고 장학금 혜택의 효과를 검증했다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 향후 해당 연구결과가 장학금 지원정책 방안 수립에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to identify latent classes underlying undergraduate students’ college adjustment and their transition pattern and to test the significant influence of financial aid by Korea Student Aid Foundation. Latent Transition Analysis was applied using 2,179 students benefited from Korea Student Aid Foundation(KOSAF). The study found latent classes of students’ college adjustments depending on the levels of adjustment. Students who are less burdened with tuition fee and more satisfied with financial aid provided by KOSAF are more likely to be adapted for school. When it comes to the transition of latent classes, burden of tuition, continuity of study due to KOSAF’s financial aid and satisfaction with financial aid affects the change after a year. To sum up, financial aids provided by KOSAF are partially effective for improving students’ college adjustment.
