사회적 합의 과정을 통한 과학 수업이 과학탐구능력에 미치는 영향

The effect of science instruction through social consensus process on science exploration ability

이 연구는 사회적 합의를 통한 과학 수업이 초등학교 5학년 학생들의 과학탐구능력에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 연구 대상은 전라북도 J시에 소재하고 있는 S초등학교 5학년으로 각각 1개의 실험반과 통제반을 선정하여 실시하였다. 동질성을 최대한 확보하기 위해 사전검사로서 과학적 탐구능력 검사를 실시하여 두 집단 간 차이가 없음을 확인하였다. 연구 내용은 사회적 합의를 통한 과학 수업의 효과를 알아보기 위한 것으로 초등학교 5학년 용해와 용액 단원으로 학생들에게 적용하였다. 연구 방법은 실험반과 통제반을 선정한 후 과학탐구능력 사전조사를 실시하였고, 실험반에는 사회적 합의를 요하는 5가지 주제로 총 10차시 수업을 진행하였으며 통제반에는 일반 수업을 진행해 비교해보았다. 연구 결과, 교사가 제시한 주제에 대한 해결방법을 모둠원들과 다각적으로 분석해보고 적절한 실험을 고안하여 결과를 확인하는 과정을 통해 과학적 개념을 합의에 의해 도출해내는 방식의 수업이 과학적 탐구능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 통합탐구능력에서 유의미한 결과를 보인 것은 수업 과정자체가 스스로 가설을 설정하여 실험을 설계하고 자료를 변환 및 해석하여 일반화하는 과정이기 때문에 해당 영역의 효과로 나타난 것으로 보인다.

This study investigated the effect of science class through social consensus on science exploration ability of 5th graders. The subjects of the study were 5th grade elementary school located in Jeollabuk-do and selected and conducted an experimental group and a control group. In order to ensure maximum homogeneity, a scientific inquiry ability test was conducted as a pretest to confirm that there was no difference between the two groups. The contents of the study were to find out the effect of science class through social consensus and applied it to students as a dissolution and solution unit in the 5th grade of elementary school. As a research method, after selecting an experimental group and a control group, a scientific investigation ability preliminary investigation was conducted. In the experimental group, a total of 10 classes were conducted on five topics that required social consensus, and in the control group, general classes were conducted and compared. As a result of the study, the method of deriving a scientific concept by consensus through a process of multiply analyzing solutions to the topics suggested by teachers and designing appropriate experiments and confirming the results positively affects scientific inquiry ability It was confirmed that it is crazy. In particular, it seems that the results of the relevant exploration ability showed a significant result because the course itself is a process of designing an experiment by setting the hypothesis itself, converting and interpreting data, and generalizing it.
