컨벤션 개최 특성에 따른 컨벤션 개최지역 및 개최장소 선택속성에 대한 중요도 차이

A Study on the Difference of Importance of the Convention Site and Local Area Selection Attributes of Convention Planners according to Convention Characteristics

컨벤션 산업에 대한 관심이 높아지고, 컨벤션시설이 확충됨에 따라 컨벤션 유치 및 활성화를 위한 전략의 필요성이 시급한 시점이다. 이에 컨벤션 기획자를 대상으로 컨벤션개최 시 컨벤션의 특성에 따라 개최지역 및 개최장소의 선택속성의 중요도에 차이가 있는지를 검증하기 위하여 본 연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과 컨벤션 기획자는 컨벤션의 특성에 따라 개최지역과 개최장소를 선정할 때 중요하게 인식하는 선택속성의 부분이 다르다는 사실이 분석되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 개최지역의 지자체 차원의 관광/컨벤션 관련 정책수립을 위한 정책적 시사점과 개별 컨벤션 업장 차원의 컨벤션 유치를 위한 경영전략 차원의 시사점이 도출되었다. 컨벤션 개최를 위한 유치 전략의 수립 시 지자체나 컨벤션 사업자 모두 정형화된 시설 및 서비스를 제공하기보다는, 연구결과에서 밝혀진 바와 같이 컨벤션 기획자가 컨벤션의 특성에 따라 중요하게 인식하는 선택속성 간에 차이가 존재하므로, 이를 반영하여, 전문화 및 차별화된 전략적 접근의 시도가 필요하고, 이러한 노력이 컨벤션 유치의 성공으로 이어질 확률이 높다고 판단된다.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the difference of perception levels of the importance for the convention site and local area selection attributes of the convention planners to build up the marketing plan for the convention business and local cities; Seoul metropolitan area, Daejeon, Kyongju, Busan and Jeju-do. To satisfy the purpose of study, the survey was administrated to the convention planners. Total 420 questionnaires were collected and analyzed for the study. MANOVA was performed to analyze the data. As a result, there are statistically significant differences between importance perception levels for the convention site and local area selection attributes of the convention planners according to convention characteristics. These findings imply that it needs to give a kin attention to design marketing strategy per the perception levels of the importance for the convention site and local area selection attributes of convention planners.
