A Study on the Government Policy of Senior Tourism in Korea

This paper examines the meaning of social tourism and current situations of Korean society focused on seniors. Tourism developers should be looking at factors such as accessibility, climate, and price with relaxed environment by developing family resort specialized for senior tourists. Tourism is important to make people to feel relaxed and happy but seniors usually face financial and physical difficulties to pursue traveling. For this reasons, the government should develop policy to implement on senior social tourism as the population of seniors grows in Korea. Therefore, further research is needed to investigate the implications of tourism upon the enhancement of life quality for seniors and how the government should prepare the future for elderly.
