Ranked-Set Samples Signed Rank Test on Bivariate Location Model

Ranked set sampling(RSS) is a sampling scheme to reduce cost and increase efficiency in situations where the measurement of a survey variable is expensive or time-consuming but ranking of sampled items relating to the survey variable can be easily done by experts.In this article, we introduce a bivariate signed rank test for one sample bivariate location model using the concept of bivariate ranked-set samples(BVRSS). We show that the proposed test is more efficient than sign test based on a BVRSS and the test statistic has the asymptotic bivariate normal distribution. From the simulation results, the asymptotic efficiency of the BVRSS signed rank test with respect to the BVRSS sign test is mostly desirable.
