Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Control Charts for Correlated Quality Characteristics

Exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA) control charts for monitoring correlation coefficients of the correlated quality characteristics under multivariate normal process with variable sampling intervals(VSI) are proposed. Performances of the matched fixed sampling interval(FSI) and VSI charts are evaluated in terms of ATS and ANSS. Numerical results show that EWMA chart based on Y t with VSI can significantly improve the ability to detect small shifts for the production process.
