역할극을 활용한 항공객실서비스 영어 교수·학습 모형 연구

A Study on the Teaching-Learning Method of Airline Service English Education Using Role Play

본 연구에서는 항공 객실승무원이 되고자 하는 전공 학생을 대상으로 영어 의사소통능력 향상과 직무역량을 강화할 수 있는 방편으로 역할극을 활용한 영어교육 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 항공 객실서비스 영어 교과를 이수한 전공학생을 대상으로 교재중심수업, 교실에서의 역할극 활용 수업, 실습실에서의 역할극 활용 수업의 만족도와 성취도, 평가결과를 비교하여 가장 효율적인 학습방안으로 실습실에서의 역할극을 활용한 항공 객실서비스 영어 교육의 필요성을 제시하였다. 기존의 항공 객실서비스 영어교육은 교과중심의 학습이 주가 되었는데, 이 연구에서는 역할극을 활용하여 교과학습과 실무학습의 연계를 통하여 영어 능력향상과 직무역량을 동시에 향상시킬 수 있도록 교수·학습 방안을 설계하였다. 이는 학습자들에게 실제 업무와 유사한 상황을 제시하여 상황대처능력 및 문제해결능력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 효율적인 방편으로 향후 지속적인 연구를 통하여 항공 객실서비스 영역에서 실질적으로 필요한 다양한 교육 방안들이 개발될 수 있기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study was to present educational programs for students who wanted to become flight cabin crew by using role-playing to enhance their English communication skills and job competency. For this purpose, it suggested the necessity of English education for airline service using role play in the mock-up as the most efficient method of learning by comparing the satisfaction, achievement, and evaluation results of textbook-oriented classes, role play utilization classes in the classroom, and role play utilization classes in the mock-up. The existing airline service English education was mainly focused on subject-oriented. But in this study, education methods were designed to improve English proficiency and job competency simultaneously through the linkage of teaching and practical learning. This is an efficient way to improve students ability to handle situations and solve problems by presenting situations similar to actual work. Through this study, I expect the development of practical English training measures in the area of airline service through ongoing research in the future.
