Factor Extraction of the Traffic Accident Using Data Mining Techniques

본 논문에서는 데이터마이닝의 의사결정규칙을 이용하여 복합적으로 이루어진 교통사고의 요인을 분석하였다. 일반적인 교통사고는 하나의 요인으로 이루어진 것이 아니고, 여러 가지의 요인이 결부되어 이루어지는 것이 대부분이다. 그리고 각각의 하나의 요인으로만 본다면 교통사고의 일반적인 요인과는 반대의 결과로 나타나는 경우도 많이 존재한다. 향후의 교통사고 요인 추출에서는 데이터마이닝의 방법을 이용하면 보다 정확한 교통사고의 요인을 찾아 사전에 교통사고를 예방할 수 있는 좋은 분석이라 볼 수 있다.

This paper analyze the complex traffic accident data using decision making rule of data mining methods. Generally, traffic accident is not explained by the only one factor, but it was composed to several factors. In some cases, we may have opposite results to the general known knowledge. We present some findings from empirical data from the survey that was collected during the research for Korea Transportation Safety Authority. If we use data mining methods for factor extraction of traffic accident, we may find more exact and informative factors of the traffic accident, and we can applying these findings to reduce traffic accident.
