스플라인 회귀를 활용한 소표본 등화

Small sample equating using the spline regression

각 집단의 학업능력이 동일하다는 가정 하에서 대표적인 등화 방법으로 모수적 방법인 선형등화와 비모수적 방법인 분위수 등화가 있다. 본 연구에서는 학업능력이 동일한 집단에서 두 가지 시험 점수가 주어졌을 때, 등백분위수 등화의 사례를 다루었다. 그런데, 자료가 소표본인 관계로 주어진 등백분위수를 평활하였다. 자료 평활 방법으로는 삼차 B-스플라인(cubic B-spline) 회귀를 사용하였다.

A linear equating which is a parametric method and an equi-percentile equating which is a nonparametric method is widely used for equating, under the assumption of the general studying ability between groups was equal. In this paper, we manage the case study of the application of equi-100 percentile equating. As sample size is small, we consider the smoothing method for the quartiles of the data. The cubic B-spline regression smoothing method is used for equating.
