유사이항분포와 유사다항분포의 통계적 성질

Statistical Preperties of Quasi-binomial and Quasi-multinomial Distributions

본 연구는 모수가 양의 정수일 때 베타분포와 이항분포 그리고, 다항분포와 Dirichlet 분포간에 성립하는 관계를 모수가 양의 실수인 경우에도 적용할 수 있도록 확장하는 과정에서 만나게 된 유사이항분포와 유사다항분포를 소개하고자 한다. 우리는 유사이항분포와 유사다항분포의 통계적 성질을 규명하였고, 이를 토대로 유사이항분포와 베터분포와의 관계 그리고 유사다항분포와 Dirichlet 분포와의 관계를 도출하였다. 특히 모수가 정수인 경우에 다항분포와 Dirichlet 분포간에 성립하는 관계와 유사한 관계가 유사다항분포와 Dirichlet 분포간에 성립함을 보였다. 유사이항분포와 유사다항분포는 성분데이터를 토대로 한 확률적 분류규칙을 유도하는데 이용되었다.

This study introduces the quasi-binomial and quasi-multinomial distributions, and derives their statistical properties. These distributions were encountered in the process of tackling the probabilistic classification problems for compositional data on the Simplex space. They are useful for generalizing the relationships between the binomial and beta distrbutions, and the multinomial and Dirichlet distributions. We derived, in particular, the relationship between the quasi-multinomial and Dirichlet distributions held for real parameters, similar to the relationship between the multinomial and Dirichlet distributions held for integer parameters.
