학부 통계학과에서 개설된 시뮬레이션 교과목을 학습하기 위해서는 기초 교육과정에서 프로그래밍 언어와 알고리즘 등을 선수 학습하는 것이 좋다. 그러나, 대부분의 통계학과 교육과정에서는 C 언어 등과 같은 프로그래밍 언어를 개설하지 않은 경우가 많아 실질적으로 시뮬레이션 교과목을 학습하기 어려운 경우가 많이 있다. 본 논문에서는 지난 수년간 C 언어를 이용하여 프로그램을 직접 작성하는 방법 및 시뮬레이션 전용 프로그램인 GPSS의 사용 등 여러 가지 방법으로 시뮬레이션 교과목에 대한 교육을 실시했던 경험을 바탕으로 Excel에 적재하여 사용할 수 있는 Crystal Ball이라는 새로운 시뮬레이션 도구를 소개한 후 예를 들어 실행해 보고자 한다.

The purpose of this paper is to provide the using methods of Crystal Ball which a tool of Monte Carlo simulation. Crystal Ball automates the more complex steps in the Monte Carlo simulation process, such as sampling from distribution, replicating and aggregating the model regults, and computing statistical information. We provided examples of Monte Carlo simulation using Crystal Ball.
