Unit Nonresponse Rate According to the Demographic Characteristics in a Survey

본 연구에서는 전화조사에서 여러 가지 인구학적 요인 중 면접원의 성별과 응답자의 성별 및 나이에 따른 응답자들의 응답률 성향을 분석함으로서 조사과정에서 발생할 수 있는 면접원의 성별에 따른 단위 무응답을 줄이고, 응답자들의 조사 참여도를 높이기 위한 방안을 모색하였다. 특별히 실제 여론조사 자료를 통해 이와 같은 응답률의 차이점을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 면접원이 여자일때 응답자의 남녀 성별 및 연령대에 따라 통계적으로 응답률이 다르게 나타났다.

A number of characteristics are thought to influence the magnitude of the interviewer effect. Sex and age groups of the demographic characteristics are considered to see the interviewer effect. This study investigate the difference of unit nonresponse rate in an election opinion survey according to sex and age groups between interviewer and respondent. Especially, we use a real world empirical survey data to see the difference of unit nonresponse rate. We find evidence that the response rate between male respondent and female respondent are different when interviewer is female. Especially, the response rate of the male above 50 s is relatively high when interviewer is female, and the response rate of female 20 s is very low relative to the other female age groups.
