인터넷을 통한 정보 접근 및 관리에서 정보보호는 매우 중요한 과제이다. 주요정보의 제공처인 웹사이트나 이메일에서 계정관리는 개인 정보보호차원에서도 중요하다. 정보활용도가 높은 인터넷 사용자일수록 여러 계정을 가지고 있어 정보보호 및 관리를 위해 체계적인 계정 관리가 필요하다.많은 인터넷 사용자가 계정을 생성하는데 기억하기 쉬운 방식을 선호하여, 개인 정보와 관련된 숫자나 문자열을 근거한 관계로, 보안에 관한 허점이 노출되고 있어 정보보호에 관한 인식의 전환이 요구된다. 이 연구에서는 최근 대학생들이 사용하는 계정을 조사하여 비밀번호의 생성근거 및 변경 과정, 인터넷 사용 경력과 비밀번호의 관계를 분석하고 바람직한 비밀번호 관리 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
