심플렉스 공간상의 차이 측도

Difference Measures on the Simplex Space

구성비 형태의 데이터가 다양한 분야에서 발생하고 있음에도 불구하고 심플렉스 공간상의 기본적인 측도에 대한 연구는 미미한 상태이다. 따라서 심플렉스 공간의 특수성을 살린 측도를 개발한다면 이 공간에서 발생하는 구성비 데이터의 분석에 많은 도움이 될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 유클리드 공간의 거리 측도와 변동량 측도의 성질을 이용해 심플렉스 공간의 측도들을 도출하였다. 먼저 심플렉스 노옴을 이용하여 심플렉스 공간에서 두 가지 차이 측도를 정의하고 이 측도들의 성질들을 규명하였다. 그리고 차이 측도들로부터 구성비 데이터의 변동량에 대한 두 가지 측도를 도출하고 기존에 구성비 데이터의 분석을 위해 널리 이용되고 있는 Aitchison의 logratio 변환에 의한 결과와 비교하였다.

Although the compositional data on the simplex space has been generated in various fields, there has been little effort to develop basic operations and norms on the simplex space itself. So difference measures featuring the specificities of the simplex space might be developed, they could be great help to the analysis of the compositional data. This study derived, by insight of the distance and variation measures on the Euclidean space, some measures on the simplex space. Firstly we proposed two types of difference measures using the simplex norm, and investigated their statistical properties. Then we derived two types of variation measures based on the respective difference measures. We compared numerically our measures with those derived from widely used Aitchison s logratio transformation.
