The relationship between sport burnout, learning attitude, and life satisfaction of collegiate Taekwondo athletes

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between sport burnout, learning attitude, and life satisfaction. The participants of this study were 359 collegiate Taekwondo athletes. All athletes were registered in Korea Taekwondo Association. Collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, correlation, and structural equation modeling (SEM). As a result, model fit indices were good (χ2=234.643, df=61, TLI=.901, CFI=.923, RMSEA=.081). First, sport burnout had no statistically significant effect on learning attitude. But the result of correlation revealed that statistically significant relationship between subscales of burnout and learning attitude. Second, learning attitude had a positive effect on life satisfaction. Third, sport burnout influenced negatively life satisfaction. In conclusion, this study identified the structural relationship of sport burnout, learning attitude, and life satisfaction.
