초등학교 고학년 학생의 인터넷 과다사용에 영향을 미치는 요인

Factors Associated with Internet Overuse of Higher Grade Elementary School Students

본 연구는 초등학교 고학년 학생을 대상으로 인터넷 과다사용 정도와 그 영향요인을 파악하기 위해 실시한 서술적 조사연구이다. 서울시 소재 2개 초등학교 재학 중인 5, 6학년 학생 189명을 대상으로 시행되었다. 2014년 4월부터 5월까지 자아존중감, 자기통제력, 가족건강성, 학교생활적응, 인터넷 과다사용 정도에 대한 자가보고형 설문지를 배부하여 자료를 수집하였다. SPSS/WIN 21.0 IBM program을 이용하여 기술통계, T 검정, 일원분산분석, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 하였다. 연구결과 초등학교 고학년 학생의 인터넷 일반 사용자는 89.1%, 위험 사용자는 10.1%로 나타났으며, 위험 사용자의 인터넷 과다사용 정도의 평균은 38.68±5.33점이었다. 초등학교 고학년 학생의 인터넷 과다사용과 자아존중감(r=-.276, p<.001), 자기통제력(r=-.435, p<.001), 가족건강성(r=-.217, p=.003), 학교생활적응(r=-.274, p<.001)간에는 유의한 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 대상 학생의 인터넷 과다사용에 영향을 주는 요인은 성별이 남자인 경우, 최근 7일 이내 인터넷을 이용하는 경우, 온라인 게임을 이용하는 경우, 자아존중감과 자기통제력 이었으며, 총분산의 29.6%를 설명하고 있었다. 이러한 결과는 초등학교 고학년 학생의 학교기반 인터넷 과다사용 예방 중재 프로그램 개발을 위한 근거자료를 제공해주었다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with internet overuse of higher grade elementary school students. This study was a cross-sectional survey design. Participants for this study were 189 5th, 6th graders from living in Seoul. Data were collected from April to May, 2014 using self-report structured questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 IBM program. Of the students, 89.9% were regular users, 10.1% risk users. The level of internet overuse of risk users among the elementary school students was 38.68±5.33. Statistically significant negative relationships were found between internet overuse and self esteem (r=-.276, p<.001), self control (r=-.435, p<.001), family health (r=-.217, p=.003) and school adjustment (r=-.274, p<.001). The factors influencing internet overuse of higher grade element school students; gender, internet use of recently, online game use, self-esteem, self control. These variables explained 29.6% of internet overuse. Our findings suggest that it is necessary to develop school-based internet overuse prevention education program considering the various characteristics according to the elementary school students.
