래킹비 조정을 이용한 KOWEPS 가중치의 포함률 개선에 관한 연구

Study on Improvement of Coverage Rate in KOWEPS Weight using Raking Ratio Adjustment

표본자료는 추정의 대상이 되는 모집단을 적절히 대표해야 한다. 이를 위해 확률표집방법(probability sampling)을 이용하며, 불균등확률표집인 경우 이를 보완하기 위해 래킹비(raking ratio) 조정이나 보정과 같은 가중치조정을 통해 표본의 대표성을 확보한다. 그러나 실제 표집과정에서는 소수의 개체들에 대한 대표성을 확보하기란 현실적으로 매우 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 한국복지패널 1차년도 가중치에 대해 이와 같이 대표성 확보가 곤란한 소수의 개체에 대한 포함률을 관심집단별로 검토하고, 래킹비 조정을 적용하여 이들에 대한 포함률 개선 방법을 제안하였다. 주요 연구변수에 대한 포괄성 분석과정을 통해 일부 셀을 제외한 대부분의 셀에 대해 적절한 포괄성을 확보하였으며, 이를 통해 표본 셀들이 적절히 모집단을 대표하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Sample data should be representative of a population which is target of estimation. To do this, we used to the probability sampling scheme and even if it is an unequal probability sampling, we make it up by weighting adjustment such as raking or calibration method. However, in practice, it is difficult to make sure the representativeness for small count units in the sample. In this paper we consider the coverage rate of the small count objects by groups of interest, and we suggest the improvement of coverage rate in Korea Welfare Panel Study (KOWEPS) using the raking ratio estimation procedure. Through the coverage analysis for the major variables of interest, we obtain the desired coverage rate for the most of cells and we know that the sample cells are representing for the population cells.
