관광지 선택요인에 의한 동부산관광단지 개발에 관한 연구

A Study on the Destination Characteristics Affecting the Development of East Part of Busan

본 연구는 동부산 관광단지 개발 방향을 제시하기 위하여 부산의 관광 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인을 연구하였다. 동부산 관광단지 개발은 대표적으로 언급되는 관광지개발 실패사례로 인식되고 있는데 본 논문은 부산 관광지의 선택요인을 분석하여 향후 성공적인 지역의 대표적인 관광지로 거듭나기 위한 동부산 관광단지 개발 전략과 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 부산을 방문하는 외국인 관광객을 대상으로 총 4곳의 유명관광지에서 설문지를 50부씩 배포하여 총 200부를 회수하였으나 완벽하게 작성되지 않은 18부를 제외한 182부를 조사에 사용하였다. 분석결과에 따르면 부산을 방문하는 외국인 관광객의 선택요인은 총 4가지(관광 및 부대시설, 주변여건, 친절 및 추천의도, 관광비용)로 추출되었으며, 국적별로 부산을 관광지로 선택한 요인 중 주변여건에 대한 인식은 각각 다른 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로, 동부산 관광단지의 실천과제는 첫째, 경쟁력 있는 테마리조트와 landmark 시설을 도입하여 한국을 대표하는 대중 관광지로 개발되어야 한다. 둘째, 국제관광객 니즈에 대한 대응력을 높여 아시아 지역의 대표적인 관광도시와 차별화 되고 경쟁력을 높이는 노력이 시급하다. 셋째, 부산시민과 경남지역의 관광 니즈에 대응할 수 있는 수요조사와 주제를 도입하여야 한다. 마지막으로, 성장성과 잠재력이 있는 대규모 집객형 시설의 도입으로 지역 경제 활성화에 기여하는 관광지로 개발되어야 한다는 것이다.

This study is aimed to examine the problems that have been raised so far and also to suggest future development plan. Regional tourism development plan should aim to provide a consumer driven focus with clear, individual marketing and development paths. Tourism is the world largest growing industry with no signs of slowing down in the twenty- first century. The industry is helping the developing regions to activate local economy of which Busan is not an exception. Tourism development plan for the East Busan has been announced about 10 years ago and the local government has failed to pursue the development due to lack of expertise and investment from the private sector. The cooperation between the public and private sector is significant for successful regional development. In recent years, various multiplex resort has been developed in Korean cities which should follow customers’ taste and trends. Therefore, it is important to adopt the nature of “sustainability” for the development of tourism resort in East Busan.
